Barry Stanton


Barry is head of the employment team and advises clients on all aspects of employment law and HR issues. He acts for a wide range of clients from international conglomerates to smaller owner-managed businesses in a variety of sectors including engineering, leisure and hospitality, professional services, software and technology and transport and logistics. He helps clients to resolve and manage their HR issues positively and pro-actively.

Dress code policy

Advising a national catering company on its dress code and policy, particularly in relation to high heels.

Post-termination restrictions

Representing client and guarding client’s interests regarding litigation commenced against new employee by former employer relating to post-termination restrictions. Litigation entered the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Unfair dismissal and race discrimination claim

Advising a hospitality company on a claim brought by a chef who was represented by an unregulated legal advisor who himself had been struck off due to racist behaviours.

Sex and disability discrimination claim

Advising an energy sector client on a claim from an individual who had been on sick leave for several months and would not engage with the company.


Advised upon the arrangements involving the transfer of a senior employee from his employment in Italy to the United Arab Emirates.

Employee relocation

Managing legal risks and implementing process to move approximately 600 employees of Becton Dickinson from offices in Oxford and Basingstoke into their new combined office in Reading.

College Counselor Training

Often times our clients have everything they need to succeed, they just require the resources and support to make a strategic jump. We worked on this project for several months and the end result was truly spectacular. By ensuring consistent and transparent communication, our client was able to progress by leaps and bounds.

Entry-Level Job Fair

We approached this project carefully, as it was our very first undertaking of this scale. We studied our client’s business to create a focused and effective solution - and then watched it grow.
